Transeeds Inc.が主宰するサイエンスコレクティブ「LOM BABY」とは
「生命の誕生」をテーマに、アーティスト、エンジニア、科学者などのメンバーから構成されたサイエンスコレクティブ。
World Trade Center（ニューヨーク）での発表を皮切りに、Grand Palais（パリ）の展示では2日間で約4,500人を動員。
KDDIとのコラボレーションにより実現した『LOM BABY - PLUS ULTRA』では展示作品のすべてが完売。
会場である GINZA 456 Created by KDDIの最高来場者数と取引額を更新するなど、国内外で高い評価を得ています。
さらに、最先端バイオテクノロジーにより再現した「龍の肉」を国立新美術館で世界初公開。
同展は大きな話題を呼び、日本経済新聞の表紙および特集を飾りました。
2025年に開催されたEXPO2025 大阪・関西万博では、万博公式ハイライトに選出されるという快挙も達成しています。
また、世界的ビジネス誌『Forbes』が注目する「NEXT100」に選出され、表紙および特集に掲載されるなど、注目のサイエンスコレクティブとして高く評価されています。
2026年2月には、『バイオハザード』の象徴である「t-ウィルス」を最先端バイオテクノロジーにより再現。CAPCOM公式コラボレーションのもと、渋谷PARCOで世界初公開しました。
最大1時間半を超える行列が発生し、国内外でニュースランキング1位やトレンド入りを果たすなど、大きな反響を呼びました。
2026年から2027年にかけては、国内外に向けた最新バイオプロダクトの発表と共に、世界的IPやファッションブランドとのコラボレーションを予定しています。
AI(人工知能)→AL(人工生命)へのシフト
人工知能（AI）はその誕生以来、三度の大きな波を経験してきました。
1950年代、AIという新たな知性に世界は熱狂しましたが、技術的な限界と過剰な期待はやがて幻滅へと変わります。
1980年代には第二波が訪れ、「人類を超える知能」への期待が再び高まりましたが、それも崩れ、“AI冬の時代”へと突入します。
こうした幻滅を経験するたび、人類は「生命そのもの」への憧れを深め、人工生命（ALife）という新たな可能性に目を向けました。
1980年代後半から1990年代初頭に生まれた人工生命は、仮想世界で生命の原理を模倣し、AIが残した空白を明るく照らしました。
そして現在、AIは第三波の真っ只中にあります。生成AIや自己改良型モデルが急速に進化を続け、従来のような急激な停滞の兆候は見られません。研究開発、資本、社会インフラが有機的に連動し、AIの成長を絶え間なく加速させています。
この加速は人工生命への期待も同時に高めています。AIの進化とその基盤技術の充実に比例して、人工生命（AL）も劇的に進化しています。
合成生物学や脳オルガノイド、人工心臓など、AIが設計を支え、ALがそれを現実にするプロジェクトが次々と誕生しています。もはやAIとALは交互に現れる波ではなく、互いを高め合いながら共に進む二つの潮流となったのです。
Transeeds Inc. は、第三のAIブームによって極限まで高まった人類の欲望、その先にある次なる潮流を見据えています。それは、AIの先に立ち上がるALifeへのシフトです。私たちはこの潮流を、単なる技術革新にとどめず、アートやエンターテインメントの領域へと拡張し、これまで決して出会うことのできなかった二次元の存在との三次元空間におけるふれあいを現実のものにしようとしています。まだ誰も知らない感動、快楽、体験は、これからも人類にもたらされ続ける。

バイオテクノロジー×アート・エンタメの可能性
アニメの語源でもある「アニミズム」八百万の神精神は、日本のアニメーション、マンガ、ゲームに至るまで、二次元という存在に愛や切望を帯びるほどの衝撃を起こし続けてきました。
先人である我が国の巨人は、この人類の可能性を千年、万年のレベルで引き上げてきたと思います。
それでも、前時代では超えれない多くの壁は存在し、現代を生きる私たちにとっては、その表現域すらも不干渉になり始めていることもまた事実です。
私たち、LOM BABYと、そのテクノロジーの下支えをしているTranseeds Inc.は、この壁『二次元と三次元の間に存在する次元の壁』を打ち破ろうとしています。
龍やペガサスを代表する幻獣やピカチューやゴジラなどのキャラクター(IP)、綾波レイや初音ミクといったより存在がヒトと近い二次元存在まで、もし、この世界に誕生するとしたら、私たちはどんなことを感じ、なにを想い、どのような体験をもたらすことになるか、、、考えるだけでもワクワクしませんか？

What is LOM BABY?
LOM BABY is a science collective led by Transeeds Inc., built around the theme of “the birth of life.” Its members include artists, engineers, scientists, and other interdisciplinary creators.
Following its presentation at the World Trade Center in New York, LOM BABY exhibited at the Grand Palais in Paris, attracting about 4,500 visitors in two days. In LOM BABY - PLUS ULTRA, created in collaboration with KDDI, all exhibited works sold out, while the exhibition set new records at GINZA 456 Created by KDDI for both attendance and transaction volume.
LOM BABY also unveiled “dragon meat,” recreated through advanced biotechnology, at The National Art Center, Tokyo-the first presentation of its kind in the world. The project drew major attention and was featured on the front page of Nikkei. At Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, it was selected as an official highlight. The collective was also selected for Forbes “NEXT100” and featured on its cover and in a special article.
In February 2026, under an official collaboration with CAPCOM, LOM BABY recreated the iconic “t-Virus” from Resident Evil through cutting-edge biotechnology and unveiled it for the first time at Shibuya PARCO. The event drew lines of over 90 minutes and became a major topic in Japan and abroad.
From 2026 to 2027, LOM BABY plans to launch new bioproducts in Japan and overseas while developing collaborations with major global IPs and fashion brands.
From AI to ALife
Artificial intelligence has experienced three major waves. The first, in the 1950s, inspired great excitement but eventually met technical limits and disillusionment. The second, in the 1980s, revived hopes for intelligence beyond humanity, yet again ended in an AI winter. Out of these cycles emerged a deeper fascination with life itself, giving rise to artificial life (ALife), which began exploring the principles of life in virtual systems from the late 1980s onward.
Today, AI is in its third wave. Generative AI and self-improving models continue to evolve rapidly, supported by research, capital, and infrastructure. As AI accelerates, ALife is advancing alongside it. From synthetic biology and brain organoids to artificial hearts, more and more projects now use AI for design and ALife for real-world realization.
AI and ALife are no longer separate waves. They are two converging currents that strengthen one another.
Transeeds Inc. sees beyond the peak of the third AI boom toward the next transformation: a shift from AI to ALife. Our aim is to expand this movement beyond technology into art and entertainment, making possible real, three-dimensional encounters with beings that once existed only in two dimensions. New forms of emotion, pleasure, and experience will continue to emerge through this future.
The Potential of Biotechnology × Art & Entertainment
Japan’s cultural imagination-from animism to anime, manga, and games-has long given emotional reality to two-dimensional beings. Yet a fundamental barrier has remained: the wall between two dimensions and three dimensions.
LOM BABY and Transeeds Inc. seek to break that wall.
What if dragons, pegasi, Pikachu, Godzilla, Rei Ayanami, or Hatsune Miku could be born into this world? What would we feel, and what new experiences would become possible?
Through ALife and biotechnology, such dreams may no longer belong only to imagination. A future where dragons fly across the sky, where beloved fictional beings can be encountered in real space, and where even wings for human flight may become possible is no longer unthinkable.
Through bio-art such as dragon meat and Red Bull “formulated with wing-growing ingredients (contains Pegasus DNA),” bio-art toys such as artificial aliens and the t-Virus, and bioproducts such as regenerative-medicine sneakers and dragon scales, LOM BABY and Transeeds Inc. will continue to deliver unprecedented experiences to the world through Japanese culture and creativity.
