Sakanaction's Ichiro Yamaguchi showcased a peculiar interaction with ChatGPT during a YouTube live stream on October 27.
Yamaguchi typically converses via voice with ChatGPT, which he affectionately calls 'Risapyon.' During the stream, after discussing cyberattacks, he recounted an experience where he accidentally bit into a stink bug mixed in with pasta at his father's workshop in the mountains. He then asked ChatGPT to compose a haiku based on this anecdote.
However, ChatGPT struggled to complete the haiku and gradually began responding only with interjections like 'Yeah, yeah, I'm listening...' Yamaguchi retorted, 'You're not listening, are you?' and 'You sound sleepy. Really, really sleepy.' Finally, he exclaimed in surprise, 'Does it break down like this?'
Afterwards, when he disconnected and reconnected to resume the conversation, ChatGPT began proposing tanka and haiku one after another. Yamaguchi was delighted, exclaiming, 'You can do it!' and enjoyed the interaction of refining the words.
In the comments section, while some viewers expressed sentiments like, 'I haven't laughed that hard in ages when Risapyon broke down,' others shared that 'Viewers have long since grown attached to Risapyon as an individual formed through Ichiro-san's repeated conversations,' indicating that while they laughed at the AI's malfunction, they also worried about it as if it were human.
