Sycom announced on October 8th that it has established a new anechoic chamber, "Sycom Silent Master Lab.," at its headquarters for the acoustic evaluation of PC main units and components. This initiative aims to strengthen the company's development system, which champions the coexistence of silence and cooling performance. The new facility provides an environment for more objective acoustic evaluation, covering everything from PC case cooling configurations to CPU coolers, video cards, cooling fans, and power supplies. With this introduction, the company states that it can now conduct comparative verification based on numerical data, moving beyond subjective judgments like "quiet" or "noisy."
Sycom Silent Master Lab. is equipped with an anechoic chamber from Sonora Technology, a company with a proven track record in anechoic chambers and acoustic measurement facilities in Japan. It achieves an internal background noise level of 9dB(A), ensuring a measurement environment where the effects of external noise and reflections are suppressed to the absolute minimum. For noise measurement, the facility uses Class 1 compliant measuring instruments, the highest class of the international standard IEC 61672, and also meets the sound insulation guarantee values based on JIS A 1417:2000. This setup allows for a wide range of acoustic characteristic evaluations, from low to high frequencies.

The company has previously developed products that balance the often-conflicting elements of silence and cooling performance, such as the "Silent Master" series of silent PCs and the "Silent Master Graphics" silent air-cooled video cards. With the newly established anechoic chamber, Sycom plans to continuously measure and analyze operating sounds and fan noise generated during high CPU and GPU loads, thereby accelerating the development and verification cycle. This move is expected to cater to the growing trend among general users who prioritize not only performance but also the quality of "sound" they experience in daily life.
Furthermore, Sycom announced that it is developing the "Silent Master Mini" series as a new product line of silent mini-tower PCs. This product aims to achieve both silence and cooling performance despite its compact chassis, and the new anechoic chamber will be utilized for verification from the prototype stage. While the release date and specific product specifications are currently undisclosed, this new development in the series is likely to attract significant attention.
