Fujifilm announced on October 27 that its square-format analog instant camera, the "instax SQUARE 2," and the square-format film "SOFT HAZE" will launch on November 13. Both will be available at an open price. Additionally, a dedicated camera case for the "SQUARE 2" and an acrylic frame for instax SQUARE film will be released simultaneously.

The instax SQUARE 2 features simple operation: just twist the lens to power it on, frame your shot, and press the shutter. Utilizing its 1:1 aspect ratio square composition, it can capture people and landscapes impressively, and also includes an auto exposure function and a selfie mirror. It newly incorporates a Landscape Mode for distant subjects, designed to capture landscapes and group photos more clearly.

Furthermore, it is equipped with a new mood filter function, allowing users to choose between two atmospheres: Warm and Cool. It adopts a mechanism where the filter is physically switched via a toggle next to the lens, and is said to naturally alter the impression of light and color while retaining the characteristic graininess of analog photos. It will be available in three colors: Misty White, Slate Blue, and Brick Red.

instax SQUARE Film "SOFT HAZE"

The simultaneously released "SOFT HAZE" is a square-format film that achieves a soft light diffusion and warm color tones by modifying the film's emulsion formula. Its appeal lies in capturing subjects with a natural texture, distinct from digital effects, from people's expressions and indoor lighting to travel landscapes.
