McDonald's is launching its side menu item, "Puripuri Ebi Purio (5 pieces)" (290 yen), starting today, September 16th. This is a limited-time product available until late October.
Since its debut in 2023, "Puripuri Ebi Purio" is celebrating its fourth year as a classic autumn side menu. It features shrimp seasoned with salt, pepper, and garlic, coated in a delightfully crispy batter. The batter incorporates small shrimp tempura bits and aonori (seaweed) agedama (tempura crumbs), designed to enhance the shrimp's natural flavor and aroma.

Furthermore, during Night Mac hours after 5 PM, two value sets featuring three side menu items, including "Puripuri Ebi Purio," will be available: "Tabekurabe Potenage Large" (630 yen) and "Tabekurabe Potenage Extra Large" (980 yen). The Extra Large offers savings of over 680 yen compared to the total price of individual items.
Same Price as 5 Chicken McNuggets
In fact, "Puripuri Ebi Purio" (5 pieces) costs 290 yen, the same price as "Chicken McNuggets 5 pieces." Considering it's a shrimp-based menu, isn't it surprisingly affordable? It seems perfect not only as a side for a burger but also as a standalone snack to satisfy a small hunger.
