Elecom will release 8K/4K compatible HDMI extension cables in mid-September, designed to make HDMI ports easier to access by bringing them forward. This product enhances connectivity for streaming devices and game consoles by relocating hard-to-reach HDMI terminals, such as those on the back of TVs, to a more convenient position. The 1m model, "DH-HD21EX10BK," is priced at ¥2,980, and the 2m model, "DH-HD21EX20BK," at ¥3,581.
In addition to extending the length of an HDMI cable, this product is useful in scenarios where users want to avoid wiring behind the TV and place devices in a desired location. Supported resolutions include up to 8K 60Hz, 4K 120Hz, and Full HD 240Hz, with a theoretical maximum transmission speed of 48Gbps. Furthermore, it supports two-way communication up to 100Mbps via HEC, eARC, Dynamic HDR, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and VRR, aiming for high-quality playback in both video and audio.
HDMI plug-equipped cables and streaming devices can be connected to the HDMI port side. The cable has a diameter of approximately 6mm and features gold-plated pins, designed to suppress signal degradation.
It also supports HDCP 2.3, HDCP 2.2, and HDCP 1.4, ensuring compatibility with copyrighted video content playback.
