What is 'Hoikoru'?

The name "Hoikoru" might sound a bit unfamiliar. In fact, at Renge Shokudo Toshu, a Chinese restaurant chain under the same group, "Hoikoru" is how they refer to and serve "twice-cooked pork" (hoikoro).

Origin Toshu was founded in 1966 as the Chinese restaurant "Toshu." Even at the current Renge Shokudo Toshu, the "Hoikoru Teishoku" (Hoikoru Set Meal) remains a staple menu item.

Perhaps 60 years ago, when the company was founded, the name "Hoikoro" (回鍋肉) wasn't as widely established as it is today, leading to the pronunciation "Hoikoru." While this is just speculation, even a single name can evoke 60 years of history.

The "Hoikoru Bento" is available at a special price of 582 yen until September 30, down from its usual price of 646 yen. Now is the time to check it out, with a saving of 64 yen!
