Sony Network Communications announced on November 6 that personal information was leaked due to unauthorized access to So-net's member database. The incident affects current members, as well as former members who unsubscribed after March 2026.

The leaked information includes names, phone numbers, user IDs, connection IDs, and So-net's primary email addresses. For users who had registered them, birth dates, genders, and secondary contact email addresses were also compromised. Even for members whose primary email addresses were no longer in use due to long-term inactivity, the address at the time of termination was reportedly leaked.

The unauthorized access occurred on October 19 and was confirmed by the company on the 23rd. They halted the affected servers, blocked communication with the attack source, and on the 24th, their investigation confirmed the data leak, identifying the types and quantities of compromised information.

As far as the company is aware, there has been no confirmation of unauthorized use of the information or any secondary damages. However, they are urging vigilance against suspicious communications impersonating So-net or the users' own email addresses.
