Yamaha announced it will host a free Zoom webinar on November 11th, aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and SOHO users. Scheduled from 3:00 PM to 3:45 PM, the webinar will explain network security measures and introduce 'YSL-CLDDNS,' a DNS security expansion license that was unveiled on November 6th.

YSL-CLDDNS is a license that enhances Yamaha routers with additional security capabilities. Unlike Unified Threat Management (UTM) systems that monitor all communication paths, YSL-CLDDNS operates by identifying and blocking hazardous destinations primarily through DNS traffic. A key advantage is its minimal impact on network performance, making it an attractive option for businesses that prioritize speed, especially with the increasing adoption of 10Gbps lines, and seek an easily deployable solution.

The license supports Yamaha's RTX1300 and RTX840 router models, primarily targeting companies seeking perimeter defense in zero-trust environments or those concerned about the cost and operational overhead of deploying UTMs. The webinar will delve into the mechanics of DNS security, its distinctions from UTMs, deployment advantages, and its strategic position within a multi-layered defense framework. The session will be led by Daisuke Baba from Yamaha.
