Mitsukan announced today, November 2nd, the sequential early launch of its "Ajipon Strong" seasoning at Don Quijote stores nationwide, as well as Apita and Piago supermarkets, which belong to the same group. It comes in a 360ml bottle and costs 430 yen.

Ajipon Gets Richer! "Strong" Enough for Meat Dishes

"Ajipon Strong" is a new Ajipon product that aims for a rich umami and depth of flavor that can stand up to meat dishes, while still retaining Ajipon's characteristic refreshing taste. It was developed by focusing on the demand for a seasoning that isn't as heavy as a rich yakiniku sauce, but also not as light as a simple ponzu dressing.

Richer flavor than usual

By increasing the proportion of ingredients compared to regular Ajipon and using multiple types of soy sauce, including tamari soy sauce, along with brown sugar, it achieves a rich flavor and profound depth. Furthermore, by adding lemon juice, it's said to have a rich yet refreshing sourness.

Reportedly recommended for yakiniku and other dishes

Mitsukan recommends it not only for meat dishes like yakiniku and hamburgers but also for hot pot dishes such as mizutaki and shabu-shabu.

Just How Strong Is It? I'm Curious!

As a ponzu enthusiast, I'm definitely drawn to the idea of a rich-flavored ponzu.

Apparently also pairs well with mizutaki

While it's said to pair well with yakiniku and hamburgers, it can also be used for hot pot dishes. Personally, I'm tempted to try it with yudofu (boiled tofu) as well.

The question is, just how strong is it?

Sales are initially limited to Don Quijote, Apita, and Piago. If you're curious, be sure to look for it at these stores.
