On November 2nd, research firm TrendForce reported in its weekly report "Weekly Radar 008" that DRAM lead times have shortened to 19 weeks. However, it still assesses the supply situation as "Very Tight."
According to the firm's charts, the benchmark for lead times in a balanced supply-demand state is 8 weeks, meaning 19 weeks is still more than double that. While the time to procurement has shortened, supply has not returned to an abundant state.
Supply is particularly tight for 32GB and 64GB RDIMMs, which are memory modules primarily used in servers.
At present, it cannot be said that the DRAM shortage has been resolved. For 32GB and 64GB server memory, at least, shortened lead times and tight supply coexist.
