It's huge.

Two giant breads appear at Lawson
Lawson has introduced some astonishing new breads. They are called "Toku-Pan Amazing French Toast" and "Toku-Pan Amazing Jaripan."
These two new breads are additions to the "Toku-Pan" series, which emphasizes cost-performance, and they boast an even greater volume. Both are affordably priced under 200 yen. They launched on October 27.
The French Toast is TOO Big!
We quickly got our hands on samples. By the way, both the French Toast and Jaripan are manufactured by Yamazaki Baking.

This might be hard to tell from the photo, but when you see it in person, it's so huge that for a moment, your sense of perspective gets messed up.

I had a Hato Sablé (dove-shaped butter cookie) on hand, so I lined them up for comparison. Vertically, it's about 1 dove; horizontally, about 1.7 doves.
The size is so surprising, it's like when you get lost in a Super Famicom Mario stage where the blocks and other objects are ridiculously huge.

It completely covers your face
When measured, the French Toast was just under 25cm in actual length.

A nostalgic-feeling French Toast
I took a bite. The inside has a mellow, buttery aroma and a soft texture. But the crust (outer edge) has a satisfying chew!

Plenty of crust, so it's very filling
Looking closely, the entire underside is crust. This takes a lot of chewing, I mean. If you keep biting and eating it, your face will be covered in bread...!
Is Jaripan a Club Now!?
And now, Jaripan. Jaripan is originally a local sweet bread from Miyazaki Prefecture. Recently, it's been sold in convenience stores and has become known nationwide.

This one measures just under 30cm. It's like a baseball bat or a club. So long!
At first glance, it looks like a koppe-pan (hot dog bun-shaped bread). Inside, there's a crunchy cream mixed with sugar.
When I tried it, the bread was more like a soft French bread than a koppe-pan. It had a chewy, substantial bite, and I could faintly taste some saltiness.

Contains fine-grained sugar for a crunchy texture
The balance between this rustic saltiness and the sweet cream is excellent, making it surprisingly easy to keep eating despite its size.
Still... it's huge. Also, the calorie count for one is 671kcal.
This Size for Around 200 Yen!
These two items would be great for sharing with friends or family. Especially the French Toast, which can be a bit difficult to eat, so it would be a blessing if someone cut it up for you.
Of course, you could also just devour it all by yourself.
All this for around 200 yen! It's huge, it's amazing!
