Elecom is set to release a new line of HDMI cables in late October that can be neatly bundled using magnetic force. The lineup features a total of four models, combining two distinct cable types – mesh and soft – with an Ultra High Speed model supporting up to 8K resolution and a High Speed model supporting up to 4K. Prices will range from 1,880 yen to 3,980 yen, with options available in black and white, and lengths of 1m and 2m to suit various needs.

The standout feature of these products is their innovative design, which allows excess cable to be coiled and secured magnetically. This prevents tangling around desks, behind TVs, and even inside carrying pouches, making it easy to maintain a clean and organized setup. Compatible with PCs, game consoles, TVs, displays, projectors, and other devices equipped with HDMI ports, these cables aim to make standard HDMI connections – which transmit both video and audio via a single cable – significantly more manageable.

Diving into the cable types, the mesh variant boasts a durable nylon mesh outer sheath, offering strong resistance to scratches and bending, making it ideal for users who frequently transport their cables. The soft type, on the other hand, utilizes silicone material for the Ultra High Speed model and a flexible material for the High Speed model, excelling in maneuverability even in confined spaces. Additionally, the connectors are clearly printed with supported resolutions and refresh rates, allowing for easy identification of specifications at a glance. Both models also incorporate gold-plated plugs and pins, engineered to minimize signal degradation.

These cables also come packed with advanced video and audio capabilities. The Ultra High Speed model supports 8K/60Hz, 4K/120Hz, and Full HD/240Hz, along with compatibility for HEC, eARC, Dynamic HDR, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, VRR, HDCP 2.3, and more. The High Speed model supports 4K/30Hz, Full HD/120Hz, HEC, ARC, 3D Full HD, and HDCP 1.4. It's important to note that these products will be available through both retail store sales and online-exclusive channels, with specific sales channels varying by series.
