'An Butter' for the Morinaga Seika Supervised 'Hotcake Bun'!
The "Hotcake Bun" is a sweet Chinese-style bun that has been developed under the supervision of Morinaga Seika since 2021. Celebrating its sixth year, a new "An Butter" flavor was introduced on September 15.

This Chinese-style bun features a subtly sweet and fluffy dough made with eggs and milk, encasing a butter filling and tsubu-an (chunky red bean paste) made with Hokkaido-grown adzuki beans. And the tsubu-an is crafted by Imuraya, famous for its "Azuki Bar." They reportedly use Hokkaido-grown adzuki beans, carefully simmering them to preserve the bean's natural texture as much as possible, resulting in the authentic flavor of adzuki beans and a clean sweetness.
It's said that you can enjoy a "sweet and savory" flavor, with the sweetness of the anko and the saltiness of the butter filling spreading alongside the warm dough.
'Morinaga Seika Supervised,' but the Anko is Imuraya's!
What's interesting is that while the product name is "Morinaga Seika Supervised," the tsubu-an inside is from Imuraya.
FamilyMart x Morinaga Seika's "Hotcake Bun" with Imuraya's anko. What a luxurious combination! Furthermore, starting with "An Butter," new flavors of the "Hotcake Bun" are scheduled to be rolled out sequentially this season. We're curious to see what flavors will come next.
