Reins International, the company operating Gyukaku, apologized on September 16 after it was discovered that a store employee had illegally opened and privately taken some of the merchandise from the "Gyukaku x Anime 'Jujutsu Kaisen' 5th Anniversary Collaboration Campaign."
The items in question were the campaign's "original clear cards." Several were opened by an employee and then resealed before being provided to customers, while some were privately removed from the store.

The company stated that it has taken disciplinary action against the employee in question based on internal regulations. Furthermore, it announced plans to investigate all stores for similar incidents, review the storage and handover methods for the merchandise, and enhance employee education.
Regarding collaborations with popular IPs, a similar incident occurred at Kura Sushi on September 3, where an employee was found to have illegally acquired "Chiikawa" prizes, leading to a commotion that resulted in the cancellation of the entire campaign.
These successive incidents of misconduct are rooted in the fact that limited-edition goods, such as random prizes, have gained high market value. As collaborations with popular IPs become more significant as customer attraction strategies, the necessity to manage these collaboration items as goods with monetary value also increases.
