Sugakiya Foods today, October 19th, launched its new cup noodle, 'Mendokoro Inoshō Supervised Karame no Karame Karakara-uo Ramen,' nationwide (excluding Okinawa).

'Karame no Karame' from Karakara-uo Cup Noodles

This is a new product in the 'Karakara-uo Ramen' series, supervised by 'Mendokoro Inoshō,' a popular ramen restaurant in Shakujii, Tokyo.

It features a rich, super spicy pork bone soy sauce soup, made with a pork bone base and generously infused with spicy oil containing an increased amount of chili peppers. It also comes with special spicy fish powder to be added later.

The noodles are non-fried thick noodles containing 5% whole wheat flour. Green onions are included as a topping.

While delivering an intense spiciness that spreads instantly from the first bite, it also seeks a balance with rich umami. It promises an unprecedented combination of 'spiciness' and rich 'umami.'

A Bowl Dedicated to Rich Umami as Well

The official website issues a warning to those who are not good with spicy food, describing it as 'a very spicy ramen.'

While 'Karakara-uo' is originally known as a super spicy cup noodle, this time, judging from the product name, it's 'Karame no Karame.' However, it's said that they've focused not only on spiciness but also on rich umami, with the official website touting it as 'the most blissful (saikō) bowl in Karakara-uo history.'

'Saikō,' you say...? Not 'most spicy' (最辛), but 'most blissful' (最幸) for happiness! The implication that it's not just about the heat makes me want to try it even more.
