On September 29, Seicomart announced that unauthorized access occurred via the server for its smartphone "Seicomart App," potentially leading to a leak of personal information belonging to Seicomart Club members. Approximately 570,000 user accounts may have been affected by the unauthorized access.

The information that may have been viewed includes full names, gender, date of birth, address, phone number, email address, and the enrollment and withdrawal dates for club cards. Seicomart stated that passwords were not compromised and that the company does not store credit card information.

The incident originated from a single unauthorized club card withdrawal process confirmed between 10 PM and 11 PM on September 24. Subsequent investigation revealed the possibility of unauthorized access to the server holding member information shortly after 5 PM on September 28. No other unauthorized withdrawals or similar activities have been confirmed for other accounts.

The company halted connections to the affected server at 8 PM on the same day. Functions such as new registrations, changes to member information or registered cards, withdrawals, and My Page logins have been suspended. As of now, no unauthorized use of the electronic payment service "Pecopay Money" has been confirmed.

Seicomart is also urging users to be cautious of emails impersonating the company. The company stated it will continue to investigate the cause of this incident and measures to prevent recurrence, and will announce findings on its official website and social media as soon as they are determined.
