SORACOM announced on September 30th that it has added a "Free Plan" to "SORACOM Query," its data analysis service for the AI/IoT communication platform "SORACOM." This plan allows free usage for all SORACOM accounts. The service is free of charge, and existing users will have it automatically applied without needing to sign up. Each account can try analysis up to a total of 500 times; a paid plan is required for usage exceeding 500 times.
SORACOM Query is a service that enables users to extract and analyze circuit management data and IoT data accumulated on the SORACOM platform using SQL. It can be used to investigate trends in communication volume and connection status across multiple lines, helping to understand device operating conditions, detect early signs of trouble, and create reports. With the addition of this Free Plan, an environment has been established where users can easily try out AI-powered IoT data analysis.
In terms of features, it includes an AI assistant that generates SQL from natural language. On the simple screen for beginners, users can simply type a query like "Which devices had high data traffic last month?" into the chat, and the AI will create the SQL and visualize the aggregated results in tables and graphs. In "Agent Mode" on the advanced screen, the AI autonomously repeats SQL construction and execution until it reaches results that match the analysis intent, reducing the burden of correcting syntax errors. Furthermore, a schema reference site has been released, allowing users to view a list of data available for analysis, which can be referenced in both AI-friendly and human-readable formats.
In addition, a new feature that allows users to combine their own data with SORACOM data for analysis has been launched as Early Access. For example, by importing a list of device installation locations, it becomes easier to grasp usage status by region or site in one go. SORACOM aims to promote data utilization across a wide range of industries through initiatives that make IoT easier to use.
