Elecom will release three Ultra96 HDMI cables, compatible with the latest "HDMI 2.2" standard, in early November. Prices will be 8,980 yen for the 1m model, 9,480 yen for 1.5m, and 9,980 yen for 2m. As the first HDMI 2.2 compatible cables to receive certification in Japan, these products are aimed at users demanding 16K video playback and high-quality audio transmission.
Their most significant feature is a high-bandwidth design that supports up to 16K (15,360×8,640px) at 60Hz. With a maximum transmission speed of 96Gbps, they also support high refresh rate displays such as 8K/240Hz and 4K/480Hz. Furthermore, in addition to Dynamic HDR, Dolby Vision, eARC, and Game Mode VRR, these cables incorporate a LIP (Lip Sync) function that automatically corrects audio-video synchronization issues, aiming to provide a more stable viewing experience for both movies and games.
For noise reduction, the cables employ triple shielding, connectors with a metal shell structure, and gold-plated pins. While suppressing signal degradation, they also support HDCP2.3, HDCP2.2, and HDCP1.4, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of devices such as PCs, game consoles, recorders, AV amplifiers, soundbars, TVs, displays, and projectors. PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 are also explicitly listed as compatible devices.
