SORACOM will begin selling the "Soracame Pro," an outdoor-compatible cloud camera with built-in LTE communication, starting October 28. This new addition to the SORACOM Cloud Camera Service "Soracame" lineup is priced as open, and inquiries for introduction consultations and quotes can be made via the product page. It is positioned as a product aimed at meeting the demand for easily visualizing outdoor sites such as construction sites, factories/plants, and river monitoring.

The Soracame Pro is a model that integrates an LTE communication module, a camera, and a dustproof/waterproof casing. It connects to the cloud simply by securing power, allowing users to start using it with almost no assembly or complex initial setup. Its key features include support for continuous recording and real-time viewing, enabling remote monitoring from PCs and smartphone apps. The product aims to reduce network construction and component combination issues common in outdoor installations, thereby lowering installation effort and reducing the risk of failure.

In terms of features, it boasts 4x optical zoom, a wide-angle field of view of up to 123 degrees diagonally, infrared night vision, and IP65-equivalent dust and water resistance. The image quality is HD (720p), and the main unit dimensions are approximately 64.0mm (W) x 67.5mm (H) x 75.0mm (D). Video is continuously recorded to the cloud and can be reviewed for a period corresponding to the subscription plan. The accompanying app is Soracame Viewer, which supports iOS and Android in addition to a web browser version.

The set includes the Soracame Pro main unit, a built-in SORACOM Air SIM card, a waterproof AC power adapter, and dedicated mounting hardware. Potential use cases include confirming construction progress and investigating accident causes in the construction industry, monitoring material placement and delivery vehicles in manufacturing, and overseeing snow conditions and common areas in property management. Furthermore, by combining it with "SORACOM Flux" from the AI/IoT communication platform SORACOM, recorded images can be analyzed with generative AI, enabling the construction of systems for object detection, character recognition, recording, and notifications.
