While the screen-less smart band "Google Fitbit Air" has been making waves, Google has now introduced the "Google Fitbit Edge," a model "with a screen," as its successor. Pre-orders have already begun, and it will be released on Tuesday, October 27th. The price is 26,800 yen. Compatible OS: iOS 16.4 / Android 11 or later.

What makes the Fitbit Edge so appealing is its lightweight comfort. Even with a screen, it weighs a mere 17.7g (excluding the band), not significantly different from the Fitbit Air, allowing for up to 7 days of operation on a single charge. Its 1.34-inch vertical display constantly shows information like step count, weather, and workouts in the center, enabling quick information checks.

In addition to quickly switching to and accessing more detailed information like sleep and heart rate using the tile function, numerous smartphone-linked features are also available, such as Google Maps and checking incoming calls/notifications. For workouts and healthcare, it includes a feature to check for irregular heart rhythm signs that may suggest atrial fibrillation, and an ECG app is also available.

The device's case is made of aluminum, and a silicone band is included as standard. Four color combinations are available (Satin Pyrite case + Olive band, Matte Black case + Obsidian band, Satin Silver case + Fog band, Champagne Gold case + Canyon band). Additionally, optional replacement bands such as magnetic bands and metal bands will be sold.
