McDonald's will begin selling three new chicken burgers – the "Zakuzaku Juicy Mac," "Spicy Zakuzaku Juicy Mac," and "Teriyaki Chicken Juicy Mac" – as regular menu items starting October 21st.

Simultaneously, the side menu item "Zakuzaku Juicy Momo Chicken" will also join the regular lineup from the same day.

Developed Over 5 Years: Crispy-Textured "Whole Thigh Meat Chicken"

Three new chicken burgers featuring "whole thigh meat" will appear as new regular menu items. It is said that their development took five years.

Completed after 5 years and over 100 prototypes

Notably, the "Chicken Filet," which will be discontinued to make way for the new products, used breast meat. With this refresh, McDonald's main chicken burgers will switch from breast meat to thigh meat.

The uneven surface is key to the crispy texture

All three new items use "Zakuzaku Juicy Momo Chicken." By wrapping juicy whole thigh meat in a wavy, uneven coating, they are said to have achieved both the juiciness of the meat and the crispy texture of the coating. They were also particular about the selection of chicken, utilizing the characteristics of each part – such as those rich in fatty umami and those with a satisfying bite – to allow customers to enjoy the chicken's inherent juiciness. Furthermore, the chicken is said to be carefully cut one by one at the factory.

For seasoning, a combination of garlic, tomato umami, and spices like black pepper is used, finished with a subtle smoky flavor.

"Zakuzaku Juicy Mac" and 3 Other New Chicken Burgers

The following are the new regular menu items.

▲Zakuzaku Juicy Mac 460 yen~

The "Zakuzaku Juicy Mac" is a burger combining Zakuzaku Juicy Momo Chicken with tartar sauce and lettuce, sandwiched in a sesame seed bun. The tartar sauce features coarse-ground mustard and black pepper, and is said to offer the texture of onions.

A burger combining Zakuzaku Juicy Momo Chicken with a spicy sauce. It is characterized by a savory and spicy flavor, enhanced with chili pepper and garlic.

A "fried x teriyaki" burger combining Zakuzaku Juicy Momo Chicken with teriyaki sauce and sweet lemon sauce. The teriyaki sauce uses ginger and garlic, resulting in a sweet and rich flavor.

The standalone "Zakuzaku Juicy Momo Chicken" will also appear as a side menu item. You can directly enjoy the crispy coated chicken, featuring juicy whole thigh meat seasoned with the umami of onion and garlic, and spices like black pepper.

"Double" Options Also Available for Yoru Mac!

For "Yoru Mac" (Night Mac) after 5 PM, a "Double" (Bai) series will also appear for each of the three new burgers, using two pieces of whole thigh meat.

All of these will be sold as regular menu items and can be ordered during Yoru Mac hours.

Additionally, the "Zakuzaku Juicy Mac" will also join "Hirumack" (Lunch Mac) on weekdays from 10:30 AM to 2 PM. It will be offered at 650 yen, a 90 yen discount from the regular price.

Limited-Time Potatoes and Lemonade Too!

From October 21st, limited-time side menu items and drinks will also appear. Sales will continue until late November.

This product adds a seasoning combining black pepper and beef umami to McDonald's French Fries. It is said to offer a taste that combines the pungent kick of black pepper with the savory richness of beef.

A carbonated drink made with juice from whole-squeezed lemons. It is said to have a fruity, refreshing tartness combined with the characteristic sweetness and richness of lemonade. Uses 1% lemon juice.

▲McFloat Whole-Squeezed Lemonade 380 yen~

A dessert drink topped with soft serve ice cream on "McFizz Whole-Squeezed Lemonade." It is said that you can enjoy the refreshing taste of lemon juice together with the smooth soft serve. Uses 1% lemon juice.

"Chiki-Chee," "Chicken Filet," and "Shaka Chiki" to be Discontinued

With the introduction of these new products, the existing chicken menu will also undergo significant changes.

"Chicken Filet," "Teriyaki Chicken Filet," and their respective Yoru Mac "Double" burgers, as well as the side menu item "Shaka Chiki," will be sequentially discontinued starting in October.

Furthermore, "Chiki-Chee (McChicken Cheese)" and Yoru Mac's "Double Chiki-Chee" will be discontinued as of October 20th.

However, "McChicken" will continue to be sold.

Familiar items like Chicken Filet and Shaka Chiki will disappear, and new chicken menu items using whole thigh meat will become regular. McDonald's chicken offerings will undergo a major transformation.
