Udon noodle chain Marugame Seimen will launch its "Niku Kara Maze Udon" at stores nationwide starting October 6.

Marugame x Mr. Matsuoka's First Maze Udon: Featuring Raw Garlic and Deliciously Spicy Minced Meat!

Since 2021, Marugame Seimen has been jointly developing dishes like the "Tomatama Curry Udon" series with Masahiro Matsuoka. This time, it's their first-ever "maze udon" (mixed udon) developed in collaboration with Mr. Matsuoka.

Niku Kara Maze Udon (with a bite-sized rice portion and tomato vinegar) Regular 890 yen, Large 1080 yen, Extra Large 1270 yen

The freshly made udon noodles are topped with special minced meat seasoned with multiple spices like curry powder and cayenne pepper, raw chives, raw garlic, Gari Tomato, shredded nori seaweed, and an egg. To ensure the ingredients mix well, the dish uses "Kamanuki-men" – noodles scooped directly from the pot after boiling.

Among these, the key to its punchiness is the raw chives and raw garlic. By intentionally using them raw, the aroma and stimulating flavor spread throughout the dish the more you mix it.

Additionally, if you add the separately provided "Tomato Vinegar" partway through, the acidity is said to mellow the spiciness. Finally, by adding a "bite-sized rice portion" to the remaining ingredients, it's designed to be enjoyed until the very end as a satisfying finisher.

Addictive with Every Mix

This writer, Nabeko, had an early taste. At first glance, it resembles Taiwan Mazesoba, but with original elements like "Gari Tomato," it's spicy yet somewhat refreshing. With every mix, the minced meat, chives, and garlic intertwine with the udon, making it incredibly addictive.

It looks like Taiwan Mazesoba, but tastes a bit different when you eat it.

A detailed taste test report will be provided separately!

It's also great that it will generally be available at stores nationwide, including those in office buildings and roadside locations. This is Marugame Seimen's unprecedented stamina-boosting maze udon. For those curious about "what it tastes like?", we recommend trying it for yourselves!
