At its annual customer conference, "Zoomtopia 2026," Zoom announced a new "Unified Context Layer" and a suite of AI features. This initiative aims to connect conversational context across meetings, chats, documents, customer support, and event management, thereby assisting businesses in completing their tasks. The announced product lineup spans Zoom Workplace, Zoom CX, developer tools, and Zoom Events, with phased rollouts scheduled from October through January 2027.

At its core is the "Unified Context Layer," which integrates conversation history, related documents, and data in near real-time. By centralizing information that tends to be scattered across meetings, calls, and chats, Zoom aims to make it easier for employees and AI agents to understand "what happened" and "what to do next." Concurrently, Zoom introduced My Notes Workflows, New Zoom Chat Experience, and ZoomMate Agent Teams, proposing a design that seamlessly connects conversations to follow-up tasks. For example, My Notes Workflows can connect meeting summaries to Zoom Chat or Salesforce tasks, allowing users to specify automation content using natural language. "Follow the meeting" provides personalized transcripts and summaries for absentees, while "Enriched notes" links screen shares, slides, and graphs to specific speaking points.

The scope of AI integration is also significantly expanding. In addition to enabling external AI environments to utilize Zoom's functionalities via MCP servers, connections with Claude, Codex, Copilot, Muse, and others are progressing. Search & Ask APIs allow these AI agents to directly query the Unified Context Layer, and the Zoom Admin MCP Server enables natural language processing for administrative tasks. In terms of audio and video, Zoom has prepared features such as Voice Translator (which translates while preserving the speaker's voice), Pose Correction (for natural appearance even when looking away), Touch up my Voice (for real-time accent correction), high-definition 60fps screen sharing, and Live Meeting AI Agent (to assist with meeting progression). All these features clearly indicate a direction where AI is integrated not merely as an "assistant" but as a "collaborator in practical work."

For Zoom CX, which handles customer interactions, Zoom is adding Customer Profiles, CX Insights Transcript Intelligence, and Zoom Virtual Agent - Kiosk for retail stores. The aim is to enhance the accuracy of customer support by consolidating histories from various channels per customer, and analyzing voice, chat, and email to link them with response times and outcomes. Furthermore, governance features for administrators are being expanded, including Centralized AI Management, Sensitivity Labels, AI Guardrails, Deepfake Risk Detection, and Zoom Compliance Manager support for My Notes and Zoom Canvas. In the events domain, Zoom is introducing Content Studio, Agentic Event Setup, and AI Analytics for Events, enabling the generation of multilingual content from a single recording and reducing preparation and analysis efforts.
