Huawei Japan announced its sponsorship of the "Volcano Cup 2026" international freediving competition, held in Kinko Bay, Kagoshima Prefecture, from September 18-22, for the third consecutive year. The company also revealed that its "HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate 2" was utilized by competitors as the official watch of the event.
The Volcano Cup 2026 saw 22 athletes from around the world compete in four disciplines: CWT (Constant Weight with Fins), CWTB (Constant Weight with Bi-fins), FIM (Free Immersion), and CNF (Constant Weight without Fins). The deepest record of the competition reached 100 meters.
The HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate 2 is a high-end smartwatch that supports both diving up to 150 meters deep and communication features via its built-in eSIM. It boasts extremely high water resistance, featuring a pressure-sensing automatic waterproof structure and a corrosion-resistant coating designed to withstand seawater. As a diving watch, it offers professional-grade functions, including the ability to register up to 50 diving partners, communicate underwater via text and emojis, and record data such as depth, dive time, and ascent/descent speeds during dives.
