Huawei Japan has announced the "HUAWEI WATCH 6," a smartwatch featuring advanced health management functions and design, set to launch on November 5. It will be available in a 46mm model (black) and a 42mm model (gold), both priced at 71,280 yen.
The "HUAWEI WATCH 6" arrives, featuring a design and functions distinct from Huawei's flagship "HUAWEI WATCH GT" series. Both 46mm and 42mm models are available.
Whereas the "HUAWEI WATCH GT" series, including the "HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 Pro" announced concurrently, adopts a design inspired by traditional wristwatches, the "HUAWEI WATCH" series boasts a more advanced, futuristic appearance and takes a step forward in functionality.
Equipped with a round display. Its 3000-nit brightness ensures information is easily visible even outdoors during the day.
A notable feature is "HUAWEI X-TAP." This system, equipped with various sensors on the right side, allows users to measure up to nine health indicators simultaneously by simply touching it with a finger for approximately 60 seconds. Furthermore, like the HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 Pro, it includes ECG measurement, which has obtained program medical device approval, and a "Body Status" function that assesses the body's condition every morning. This enables daily health management.
Various data can be acquired at once with the "X-TAP" on the side.
For workouts, it supports a wide range of activities including golf, running, mountaineering, and free diving up to 40m. Functionality is essentially equivalent to the HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 Pro.
A feature not found in the HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 Pro is standalone mobile communication via eSIM. This enables calls and message checking independently (excluding Docomo-affiliated SIMs).
Equipped with standalone mobile communication. eSIM is set up via a smartphone app.
In terms of design, it features a futuristic appearance with smooth, beautiful curves. It is lighter compared to the previous model. The display, protected by sapphire glass, boasts 3000 nits of brightness, making information easy to read even under direct sunlight.
Battery life is approximately 4.5 days for the 46mm model and approximately 3 days for the 42mm model. In ultra-long battery life mode, these extend to a maximum of 11 days and approximately 7 days, respectively. It supports wireless fast charging, allowing for a full day's use with just a 15-minute charge.
