Nippon Rent-A-Car Service announced on September 26 that its "Nippon Rent-A-Car app" system experienced unauthorized access by a third party, potentially leading to the improper viewing of information belonging to 41 members.
The affected information includes names, phone numbers, email addresses, login IDs, usage history, and reservation details. For these specific members, there is also a possibility that driver's license numbers, addresses, dates of birth, as well as the last four digits of credit card numbers and cardholder names, were viewed.
The company is individually contacting the 41 affected individuals via their registered email addresses, requesting them to reset their passwords. For members who have not received a notification email regarding this incident, the company states that there is currently no confirmed risk of their information having been viewed.
