Elecom launched the "TouchBook Smart" in late September, an integrated keyboard and trackpad solution housed in a case designed to protect the iPad from all angles. The magnet-only connection model is priced at ¥21,480, while the 2-way model, offering both magnetic and Bluetooth connectivity, retails for ¥25,980.
The TouchBook Smart is characterized by its ability to protect the iPad when closed, while providing comfortable text input and pointing operations. It features an infinitely adjustable stand, a backlight for easy use in dark environments, and a trackpad that supports gesture operations. This makes it suitable for a wide range of applications, from document creation to video viewing and illustration production.
The keyboard is a scissor-switch type compliant with the Japanese layout, featuring a key pitch of approximately 17.0mm and a key stroke of about 1.3mm. The key surfaces are curved to conform to fingertips, designed to minimize mistypes. Furthermore, it supports the attachment of a magnetic stylus, which is an added benefit for keeping your workspace organized.
The lineup includes six models to suit various needs. The magnet-only connection models are available for the 11-inch iPad Pro, 11-inch iPad Air, and iPad 10.9-inch. The 2-way models, which also support Bluetooth connectivity, are available for the 11-inch iPad Pro, 11-inch iPad Air, and 11-inch iPad. The 2-way models are particularly convenient for users who prioritize multi-device operation, as they can be easily switched between an iPad, PC, and smartphone.
