On September 22, Workman announced its new all-season apparel series, "XShelter 'Comfort Insulation' Σ," designed to handle temperature fluctuations from 5 to 30°C. This series utilizes a newly developed proprietary hollow insulation material to maintain a comfortable internal temperature of 28-32°C within the clothing.
A key feature is its ability to block the effects of external temperature changes. It proves effective on days with temperature swings of 10°C or more between morning and evening, or when transitioning from a cold outdoor environment to a heated train. Since it functions even as a thin single layer, it will be available not only for workwear but also for suits and casual clothing.
Workman plans to launch 13 products in the first year, aiming for 700,000 units sold and 2.4 billion yen in sales over one year, starting this September. Workwear, suits, and jumpers are expected to account for approximately 70% of sales, with products for general consumers starting at about 30%. The company's policy is to increase production if demand grows.
The core concept is to absorb temperature differences with a single garment, rather than requiring different clothes for each season. Workman intends to develop the Σ series into a flagship product within the XShelter line in the future.
