ASUS Japan announced on September 18th the ROG Gjallar Gaming Soundbar, the first 2.1.2ch gaming soundbar under the ROG brand. Set to release on September 25th, it will be introduced as a gaming audio device featuring immersive 3D sound and versatile connectivity. The price is 95,980 yen.
The ROG Gjallar is a soundbar equipped with upward-firing speakers compatible with Dolby Atmos, capable of rendering everything from enemy footsteps to sounds passing overhead in three dimensions. In addition to left and right full-range speakers and tweeters, it combines with a 6.5-inch 5GHz wireless subwoofer, creating a configuration that reproduces explosions and bass with powerful depth.
Since the subwoofer connects wirelessly to the soundbar body via low-latency 5GHz, it helps minimize cable clutter around the desk. A key feature is its high degree of placement freedom, allowing it to be easily placed in preferred locations such as at your feet or next to your desk. It is said to be a product suitable for users who prioritize sound spaciousness and localization, not only for gaming but also for watching movies and streaming content.
In terms of operation, a dedicated wired control hub with an LCD display is included. It allows for centralized control of volume adjustment, EQ settings, input source switching, and RGB lighting right at your fingertips. It also supports clear voice chat with its built-in beamforming microphone.
