Elecom announced that its "Semi-Solid Mobile Battery (20000mAh/67W)," which utilizes semi-solid lithium-ion batteries, has received the "Product Category (+Anshin)" award at the Reiwa 8th fiscal year "Product Safety Measures Excellent Company Commendation (PS Award)," hosted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). The product is safety-focused, emphasizing the reduction of ignition risk when internal cells are damaged by drops, pressure, or impact.

The award-winning product incorporates semi-solid lithium-ion battery cells, which feature an electrolyte transformed from liquid to a gel-like state. This design reportedly makes it difficult for ignition to occur even if internal cells are damaged by drops, pressure, or impact. Furthermore, it is equipped with a protection circuit that halts operation in the event of an anomaly, "Thermal Protection" for monitoring and controlling temperature, and a "Health Monitor" to inform users when it's time to consider a replacement, thereby balancing both safety and user-friendliness.

This commendation system is designed to promote product safety initiatives among private companies and embed safety values throughout society. The "Product Category (+Anshin)," newly established in the Reiwa 7th fiscal year, evaluates products that mitigate accident risks stemming from misuse or carelessness, and aims to support consumer product choices through clear and understandable labeling. Elecom previously won an award for its "USB Cable with Built-in Breaker" when this new category was introduced last year, marking its second consecutive year of recognition.

Furthermore, Elecom will exhibit as an award-winning company at the PS Award 20th Anniversary Event. The event is scheduled for November 12th, from 13:00 to 16:30, at the Iino Conference Center (Iino Building 4F, 2-1-1 Uchisaiwaicho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo). The target audience includes corporate executives and personnel involved in design/development, manufacturing, import, sales, product safety, and quality control, with general attendees interested in product safety also anticipated.
