Elecom is set to launch 9 items across 3 models of mobile batteries, featuring fire-resistant and long-life lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, starting mid-October. These products will be available at open pricing.
The new power banks utilize lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, the same type found in electric vehicles. Compared to conventional lithium-ion batteries, LFP batteries are less susceptible to ignition, offering superior safety. They also boast a long lifespan, supporting approximately 2,000 charge/discharge cycles. These new models are more compact than their predecessors, enhancing portability.
Feature-wise, the power banks include a "Health Monitor" that changes LED illumination and color based on the number of charge/discharge cycles, providing an indication of when replacement might be needed. They also incorporate Thermal Protection for temperature monitoring and control, along with multiple safety features that automatically shut down the device upon detecting anomalies. Furthermore, they comply with the technical standards of Japan's Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Act (PSE).
Three models are available with capacities of 6,000mAh, 8,000mAh, and 12,000mAh. The 6,000mAh model features one USB Type-C port and one USB-A port, enabling simultaneous charging of two devices. The 8,000mAh model is equipped with two USB Type-C ports and one USB-A port, capable of powering laptops. The 12,000mAh model supports up to 45W output, making it versatile for charging PCs, tablets, and smartphones. All models come with features supporting daily use, including pass-through charging, low-current mode, "Omakase Charging" (automatic optimal charging), and PPS standard compatibility.
Model numbers include the cable-attached DE-C96L-6000 series, DE-C97L-8000 series, and DE-C98L-12000BK, as well as the cable-less EC-C72LBK, EC-C73LBK, and EC-C74LBK. DE-series models come with an approximately 0.1m USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable. In addition to black, color options include blue and white for the 8,000mAh model, and a "Shiro-chan" design for the 6,000mAh model.
