On September 25th, unauthorized access was detected in the web system of Times Mobility, which operates Times Car. The intrusion route was blocked by 7:25 AM on September 26th. On September 28th, the company announced that information for approximately 6.6 million accounts, including current members, former members, individuals who had not completed their membership registration, and users of corporate services, had been acquired by a third party.

The leaked information included names, addresses, dates of birth, phone numbers, email addresses, and driver's license information. For approximately 1.6 million accounts, images of identity verification documents such as driver's licenses were also compromised.

In response, Mr. Makino opened a dedicated website on September 30th and began registering individuals interested in pursuing claims for damages. Moving forward, after completing proxy procedures and other steps, a decision will be made on whether to file a lawsuit.

Times Mobility is proceeding with individual notifications to affected parties and has also established an inquiry desk for former users. Regarding compensation, the company states that it will decide on a policy based on the investigation results from an external specialized organization.
