Amazon Kindle, thinner and newly launched.

On October 1st, Amazon announced the renewal of four models in its "Kindle" e-reader series. A key feature is the adoption of a flat front design across all models, eliminating the step between the screen and bezel, making them thinner and lighter than before.

The lightest model, the "Kindle (16GB)," boasts approximately 30% faster book display speeds compared to its predecessor. It weighs a light 140g. Available in new colors Ube Purple and Graphite, it is priced at ¥29,980. A 32GB model, the first for Kindle, featuring an aluminum back, is also available for ¥33,980.

For higher-end models, the "Kindle Paperwhite," featuring up to 12 weeks of battery life and IPX8-rated waterproofing, starts at ¥39,980. The "Kindle Colorsoft," equipped with a 7-inch color display, starts at ¥51,980. New colors like Seagrass Green and Fig have also been added.

The Kindle (16GB) and Kindle (32GB) were released on October 1st. Pre-orders for the Paperwhite and Colorsoft began on the same day, with shipments starting November 11th.

A new accessory, the dedicated Bluetooth remote control "Kindle Click," which allows users to turn pages remotely, is also launching for ¥5,180. The children's models, "Amazon Kids Kindle" and "Amazon Kids Kindle Colorsoft," have also been renewed.

Furthermore, during the "Amazon Prime Appreciation Festival," which will feature early sales starting October 13th, previous generation Kindle series models will be sold at special prices. The Kindle will be ¥16,980, the Kindle Paperwhite ¥22,980, and the Kindle Colorsoft ¥29,980.

The "Kindle Scribe Colorsoft" and "Kindle Scribe" will also be part of the sale. The 32GB Kindle Scribe Colorsoft will be sold for ¥84,980, and the 32GB Kindle Scribe for ¥69,980.
