NTT Docomo, which recently announced price increases for its online-only plan "ahamo," has also revealed upcoming price hikes starting this December for its low-capacity "Docomo mini" plan and other existing plans that are no longer accepting new applications.
First, "Docomo mini" will transition to "Docomo mini2" in December (new applications for "Docomo mini" will end at the end of November, but existing users can continue to use it). While "Docomo mini" had a two-tier system priced at 2,750 yen for up to 4GB and 3,850 yen for up to 10GB, "Docomo mini2" will change to 3,278 yen for up to 6GB and 4,598 yen for up to 12GB. On the other hand, a new family discount, "Minna Docomo Wari" (Everyone Docomo Discount), which was not previously available, will be added. If all discounts are applied, the prices are stated to be 858 yen and 2,178 yen.
Next, regarding price increases for existing plans: "eximo" and "5G Gigaho" will see a monthly increase of 550 yen. Please note that plans migrated from OCN Mobile ONE are also subject to price increases.
Regarding "Docomo MAX," a new discount has been launched for users aged 60 and above who subscribe to "Docomo MAX." This discount will be applicable for up to three months. Docomo states that smartphone usage, exemplified by video viewing, is expanding even among seniors, and this initiative aims to make the "unlimited data" premium plan more accessible.
Additionally, overseas roaming data communication available with "Docomo MAX" and "ahamo" will expand from the conventional 30GB to 40GB starting in December. Furthermore, while overseas usage was previously limited to 15 days per month, the "Overseas Data Usage Days Add-on Option" (with data volume within the monthly 40GB limit) has been launched, allowing usage beyond 15 days for an additional 980 yen per day.
