Transforms from a Game Console to a Tablet, to a Mini-Notebook PC!

What caught our eye at the ONEXPLAYER booth at Tokyo Game Show 2026 was the new portable gaming PC, the "ONEXPLAYER 3". With controllers on both sides, its appearance is like a portable game console, similar to the Nintendo Switch.

ONEXPLAYER is a portable gaming PC brand developed by One-Netbook Technology. They primarily develop high-performance Windows-powered handheld PCs and mini PCs, and have actively launched products that combine gaming and PC uses into a single device, such as introducing the 3-in-1 style with the original "ONEXPLAYER X1" in 2024.

The ONEXPLAYER 3 is also a model that inherits this concept, allowing it to be used as a portable game console when the controllers are attached to both sides, or as a Windows tablet when they are detached. Furthermore, attaching a magnetic keyboard transforms it into a style resembling a small notebook PC. It is truly a "3-in-1" device, serving three roles in one.

Wow, This is Beautiful! Captivated by the 8.8-inch AMOLED Screen

And upon seeing the actual device, what personally left a strong impression was the beauty of its display. Peering into the screen, its colors were so vibrant that it made me exclaim "Oh!" and game visuals immediately popped out.

The ONEXPLAYER 3 adopts an 8.8-inch AMOLED display, supporting a high refresh rate of 144Hz and a peak brightness of 1100 nits. In addition to the deep blacks and vivid color expression unique to OLED, the smooth visuals provided by the high refresh rate are also a key highlight.

Since it's a Windows PC inside, not only can you play PC games in portable console style, but its uses are also wide-ranging, such as detaching the controllers for web browsing or video viewing, or attaching a keyboard for work. The left and right controllers can also be combined after detachment and used as a wireless gamepad.

For those who want to consolidate their gear—avoiding carrying a portable device for gaming and a separate PC for work—this is a very interesting option. Above all, the beauty of the screen when running games on a device of this size is hard to convey by simply looking at a spec sheet. At the TGS venue, we highly recommend getting hands-on with the actual device to experience it for yourself.
