Elecom will release two models of automatic pet feeders for cats and small to medium-sized dogs in early November. The lineup includes two types: the "App-Controlled Automatic Feeder with Camera," which allows feeding, monitoring, and voice communication via smartphone, and the "Timer-Controlled Automatic Feeder Single Bowl," which offers easy operation with physical buttons. Both models feature a large-capacity tank of approximately 4.5L. The camera-equipped model is priced at ¥11,980, while the timer-controlled model is ¥6,480.

The camera-equipped model stands out with its 2K high-definition camera and audio functions, enabling users to feed and talk to their pets via smartphone even when away from home. It supports up to 10 seconds of voice recording, allowing owners to announce meal times with their own voice. Furthermore, feeding times, amounts, and frequencies can be finely adjusted through the app, with each portion being approximately 15g. The design emphasizes monitoring features, including daily, weekly, and monthly feeding record confirmation, motion detection notifications, night vision mode, and support for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi.

The appeal of the timer-controlled model lies in its simple button operation, usable without a smartphone or Wi-Fi. Feeding times and amounts can be set up to four times a day, adjustable from 1 to 10 portions per feeding. Both models feature a slim design that minimizes space, and the food tank, rotating fin, and stainless steel food bowl are removable for complete washing. They also prioritize ease of daily use, incorporating features such as a large 4.5L tank, a lid with a gasket, a desiccant pocket, a spill-prevention mechanism in case of tipping, and a chew-resistant USB power cable.

Both models support the combined use of a USB Type-C power cable and three D-size alkaline batteries, adopting a backup power design that helps retain settings even during power outages. The camera-equipped model also offers the advantage of being viewable on multiple devices, allowing families to monitor their pet together. Please note that only dry food can be used; wet foods such as semi-moist, moist, or canned foods, as well as treats with irregular shapes, are not supported.
