SoftCreate announced on October 19 the addition of an "Office Add-in Feature" to its enterprise and organizational generative AI service, "Safe AI Gateway." This new feature allows users to leverage AI directly within Microsoft 365's Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Targeting "Safe AI Gateway ver.3.24," the key advantage is the ability to complete corporate document creation, spreadsheet tasks, and material editing within the familiar Office applications. It will be standard in both the Multi-Tenant Plan and Wide Plan, with no additional cost.
This feature eliminates the need to switch between Office applications and a browser. Users can select text, tables, cells, or slides and directly ask the AI to summarize, translate, rewrite, create tables, or set formulas. The AI's proposed changes can be reviewed by comparing the before-and-after versions and then directly applied to documents or materials, streamlining workflows and minimizing disruption. Additionally, it supports the "undo" function in each application, making it easy to experiment with changes.
The scope of use spans all three applications: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. In Word, users can summarize, translate, rewrite text and tables, edit paragraphs, and create tables. If no selection is made, text can be added at the cursor's position. For Excel, it supports editing values and formulas based on cell ranges, bulk settings, table creation, and adding/deleting rows and columns. In PowerPoint, users can rewrite text, create text boxes and tables, and move or resize objects across multiple slides. The feature also includes image attachment, general chat, and user settings, making it adaptable to various business needs.
The feature is included in both the Multi-Tenant Plan and Wide Plan, requiring no additional cost.
