On October 6, Google released 'Nano Banana 2.1,' the latest version of its image generation and editing AI. As the successor to 'Nano Banana 2,' it maintains high speed while improving image quality, fidelity to instructions, and other aspects.

The API image output fees have also been significantly reduced. Standard pricing is $0.0336 per 1K image, $0.0504 for 2K, and $0.0756 for 4K. This represents nearly half the price compared to Nano Banana 2.

Up to 14 reference images can be used, allowing for consistency across up to four characters and ten objects. It can also generate images based on Google Search and Image Search results.
