Freaky gadget alert! On display at the Azeron booth at Tokyo Game Show 2026 was a gaming device bursting with mechanical flair, so much so that you might be puzzled about how to operate it at first glance.

Azeron is a gaming device manufacturer based in Latvia. Development began in 2012 with the prototyping of their first gaming keypad, after the founder believed that "a regular keyboard couldn't provide the gaming control I wanted." Since then, they have continued to refine their designs using 3D printing, and now offer uniquely shaped gaming keypads such as the "Cyborg II" and "Keyzen."

What particularly catches the eye are the numerous switches arranged to fit each individual finger. It's quite different from typical left-hand keypads; rather than simply being a "shrunken keyboard," it feels more accurate to call it a dedicated controller designed purely for gaming from the ground up.

Thumb for the Stick, Other Fingers for Shortcuts!

The operation method is also quite unique. The thumb controls an analog stick placed on the side, used for character movement and similar actions. The index to pinky fingers press keys arranged around them to input commands such as weapon changes, jumps, and skills.

Above all, the "cyborg feel" when you rest your hand on it is incredible. Switches surround each finger, and a stick sits next to the thumb. While this form likely emerged from the pursuit of functionality, its very appearance intensely tickles the hearts of gadget enthusiasts.

It's sure to appeal not only to those who are "tired of gaming with a regular keyboard," but also to anyone who gets unconditionally excited by unusual input devices. The Azeron booth was definitely one of the "high-concentration freaky gadget" spots at the TGS venue.
