Huawei Japan has announced the "HUAWEI FreeBuds SE 5 MAX" true wireless earphones, featuring an impressive battery life of up to 80 hours with the charging case. Priced at ¥8,580, they are available in three colors: white, black, and blue. The white model is already on sale, while the black and blue versions are slated for release on November 20.
The HUAWEI FreeBuds SE 5 MAX are straightforward in-ear earphones priced in the ¥8,000 range. Compared to their predecessor, the "HUAWEI FreeBuds SE 4 ANC," they boast significantly extended battery life. With ANC off, the earbuds alone offer up to 10 hours of playback, extending to a remarkable 80 hours with the charging case. Even with ANC enabled, they provide 7 hours on their own and up to 57 hours with the case, ensuring worry-free use during long commutes or study sessions. Furthermore, fast charging is supported, delivering up to 4 hours of music playback from just a 10-minute charge.
In terms of ANC performance, these earbuds offer a robust noise reduction capability of up to 52dB, impressive for their class. They support four modes: "Ultra," "Standard," "Cozy," and "Dynamic." While "Ultra" mode proves highly effective in extremely noisy environments like subways, setting it to "Dynamic" allows the earbuds to automatically adjust ANC intensity in real-time based on ambient noise levels.
A hallmark of Huawei earphones is their strong emphasis on call performance. Featuring a combination of three microphones per earbud and AI call noise reduction, they effectively minimize ambient distractions. This ensures comfortable usage, allowing users to participate in online meetings even from noisy outdoor settings.
For sound quality, the earbuds are equipped with approximately 10mm dynamic drivers. Users can fine-tune the audio with an equalizer via the "HUAWEI Audio Connect" app for Android and iOS. Additionally, they support the high-resolution audio codec "LDAC" and multi-point connectivity, allowing two devices to be connected simultaneously.
